Lava Cap Winery

Lava Cap, with its gracious style, rustic charm, cozy tasting room, and picturesque grounds, is the quintessential mountain winery. The winemaking estate, perched upon a cap of lava, is located just outside Placerville, California in the El Dorado County wine region of the Sierra Foothills.

Founded in 1986, Lava Cap wines continue to win a steady stream of gold medals and awards from across the country each year. Winemaker Tom Jones and his brother Charlie Jones, Vineyard Manager, use their 25 years of expertise with Lava Cap to highlight the best of the terroir in their wines.

The Jones family welcomes visitors each day to their tasting room. Open daily 11am-5pm except New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
