Slow Food, Slow Wine—Paradise, Italian Style at Charter Oak Winery for 8
You and 7 friends will join Robert and Layla Fanucci for dinner under the stars at Charter Oak Winery and Vineyard in St. Helena. Usually, that would say it all. But theirs is a story about bringing paradise with you, through time and across continents; holding it in your hands just this way and for generations.

In Robert Fanucci’s paradise, there is nothing quite as beautiful as seeing the sun shine down on the purple grape juice as it bubbles to the top. Robert says: “I live for this and it nourishes my soul.”

To this day, still using Nonno’s (grandfather’s) homemade winepress and tools, Charter Oak Winery’s Fanucci family handpicks and hand presses fragrant, spicy grapes that carry the character of soils that have been lovingly tended by this same family—some from vineyards planted during President Grover Cleveland’s first term in the 1880s.

Your group will experience another ‘bliss’ during your visit: a once-in-a-lifetime vertical wine tasting of Charter Oak’s boutique wines, some of which were produced in lots of only a few hundred cases. And, each lucky couple will take home a case of precious Charter Oak Zinfandel!

So, savor slow food (al dente homemade pasta and tender steak Florentine), and slow wine—with time enough to share your stories with the Fanucci’s, to become a part of theirs, and to taste history.

The 12L Hula Girl – Jan Kasprzycki Bottle Art
Various legends surround the origins of hula, but the dance is now most widely performed at luau (Hawaiian parties) and celebrations. This dazzling hula dancer, a one-of-a-kind hand-painted Kasprzycki original, represents Jan’s clarity of vision and purpose that the powerful Hawaiian environment provides. Was Jan channeling Pele, the volcano goddess, or perhaps Laka, goddess of the hula, who gave birth to the dance on the island of Molokaʻi? Whatever it was, you will find your own inspiration both from the colorful vision on the outside of the bottle that is Jan’s trademark, and from the Virgil’s Vineyard Zinfandel contained within.
