Zinfandel grapes from the one-acre Heritage Vineyard within UC Davis' Experimental Station in Oakville were harvested on October 12, 2006. Storybook Mountain winemaker/owner Jerry Seps is the winemaker for The Heritage Vineyard for the 2006 vintage.

GOVERNOR VETOES ZINFANDEL BILL: Rejects historical importance of Zinfandel in California
Governor Schwarzenegger vetoed Senator Carole Migden’s SB 1253, which would have designated Zinfandel California’s ‘historic wine.’ Both houses of the state Legislature had passed the bill in a bipartisan effort to recognize Zinfandel as a respected part of California’s history.
ZIN IS IN! Bill Designating Zinfandel as California’s Historic Wine Passes State Legislature
SB 1253, designating Zinfandel as “California’s Historic Wine,” passed the Assembly 45-20 on August 10 and now awaits Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s signature to become law.
