To our Zinfandel Community,
Our beloved wine country, including the counties of Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, Lake and Solano, is currently being ravaged by unprecedented wildfires. Here in Nevada County, we also have family and wineries under fire threat. With only sporadic information, we fear the devastation is unlike anything ever seen in Northern California.
So many wineries, vineyards, winery staff, families, friends and neighbors are being affected and the fires are not yet contained. Strong winds this afternoon have everyone on edge with thousands being evacuated. Heroic firefighters, volunteers and first-responders are courageously continuing the battle. We are sincerely grateful for their service and wish them the best for their safety.
Our hearts go out to everyone experiencing losses. At this time, ZAP wants to extend our support to the many efforts underway to aid these communities. There are numerous worthy ways to help and we encourage you to contribute to those in need. ZAP has set up a restricted fund to aid in disaster and recovery fire relief efforts.
Thank you to those who have reached out to us with your caring messages. It is a tremendous comfort during this sad and difficult time. The wine industry is, without a doubt, a most generous and giving community, donating millions of dollars to charities across the country. It is now their time of need. I know we will come together, persevere and overcome this tragedy together.
As we understand and identify the needs of those affected, we will keep you updated. Thank you.
Most sincerely,
Rebecca Robinson
